Solutions by sector
Infrastructure designed around the realities of remote deployment.
Building infrastructure in northern and remote locations presents challenges that begin long before installation: transportation, seasonal access, limited local fabrication resources, power availability, skilled trades, maintenance and the cost of moving people and equipment.
Insula develops Canadian-built modular infrastructure designed to address those realities.
Our approach
Our approach combines containerized platforms, advanced manufacturing and modular kitting to manufacture systems in Southwestern Ontario and prepare them for efficient transportation, installation and long-term service in remote locations.
Remote infrastructure does not necessarily need to be fabricated remotely.
Insula designs components and systems that can be precision manufactured, inspected and kitted under controlled conditions before being transported closer to the point of use.
Mechanically fastened and modular assemblies can reduce the amount of welding and specialized fabrication required at the deployment site while making replacement, repair and future expansion more practical.
Capabilities
Insula develops modular systems capable of integrating solar generation, battery energy storage, generator backup and grid connections where available.
Containerized power infrastructure can support community facilities, communications, equipment, utilities, temporary operations and other applications where conventional electrical infrastructure is limited.
